My first quote on this blog from Star Trek

"Someone once told me that time was a predator that stalks us all our lives. But I rather believe that time is a companion that goes with us on the journey to remind us to cherish every moment cause they may never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we live. After all, number one, we are only mortal."

                                   - Captain Jean Luc Picard
                                     Star Trek Generations [1994]

During this movie Captain Picard learned of a death in his family, his nephew, Rene Picard in an fire at the family vineyard. And around the climax of the movie, our Captain was again witness to another death in his Starfleet family, a fellow Captain whom he learned about in the history books, a Captain James Tiberius Kirk who was a legend commander of two refits of the USS Enterprise. The movie Star Trek Generations was a passing of the torch or baton type movie which bridged the gap between the characters from The Original Series with the characters from The Next Generation.

Once again I apologize if I sound as if I am getting philosophical but this movie is again talking about how fragile and short that a lifetime may be and once again we should learn to cherish and make the most of the time we are allotted.

As Spock would say, "Live long and prosper."
